Snyder High School

Snyder High School celebrated eight athletes who declared their intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level.  Following recognition by their coaches, student-athletes gathered with their families, friends, teachers, and coaches in Worsham Auditorium to celebrate.

Abby is a four-year varsity starter in the libero position. She is a strong defensive specialist with great communication skills and a high volleyball IQ. Abby led her team in digs each year, reaching 2301 digs in her final season with the Lady Tigers. In her four years, she was a part of one bi-district championship team and three consecutive district championships. She has earned 4 honors at the state level, many area accolades, a district superlative all for years and has been selected to two all star teams. Volleyball Coach Mindi Bredemeyer said, "She is a great teammate, works very hard year-round and truly loves the game."

Bryce was a 4 year starter at middle linebacker for the Snyder Tigers Varsity Football Team. He has grown into a phenomenal young man of character. His story is truly remarkable, and he has lived up to the captainship that his teammates bestowed upon him. Head Football Coach and Athletic Director said, "He played a pivotal role in changing our culture, and helped lead us to two playoff wins this season, which hasn’t been done in over a decade. We cannot wait to see what his future holds for Bryce."

Zairah was a 4 year varsity starter. She is a member of the first team in Snyder school history and was the first one to score a goal for the soccer program. She is a disciplined, leader and talented player that has grown a lot the past four years. She led the team with 55 goals this season, was the team captain, and is a part of the first bi-district championship and #16 ranked team.  Girls Socer Coach Jessica Lima said,  "Most of the players look up to her and she works very hard to be the best at what she does. She truly loves the sport and I cannot wait to see her shine in the future."

Sierra has only played soccer for about 2 months. She came into the program and was a difference maker on the defensive side. She is a hard worker, team player, and motivated to get better. She always pushed herself to do the best she can in order to benefit the team. She had 47 saves during district, helping the team on several occasions. She is a part of the first bi-district championship and ranked team in Snyder. Sierra is very positive and goes the extra mile to get better. Coach Lima said, "I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her. "

Chloe was a 4 year varsity player and was a part of the first soccer team at Snyder High School. Her work ethic, discipline and hard work has made her become the player she is today. During her senior year she was a strong player in the middle for us and helped the team to have a winning season. She was a team captain and players looked up to her. She is a part of the first bi-district championship and ranked soccer team at Snyder.  Coach Lima said, "Chloe is motivated and extremely passionate about soccer. I cannot wait to see the great things she will keep on doing."

Lima continued, "These girls are setting the bar high for the next generations and showing that it is possible. I mean who would ever have thought, 4 years ago, when the program started, that players would be moving on to play at the next level. I am so proud of them and good luck on your future endeavors."

Jorge is a record-breaking multi-sport athlete. He served the boys soccer program for 4 consecutive seasons. Jorge’s competitiveness, work ethic, and talent helped the program reach its first back-to-back District Championships and 3 playoff gold balls. Head Soccer Coach, Max Cruz said, "The Snyder Soccer program will always remember the Top Goal scorer of all time!"

Carlos is a Senior Team Captain that helped build the soccer program for 4 consecutive seasons. Coach Max Cruz said, "His endless work ethic, versatility, and commitment has brought him here today."  Carlos has improved in all aspects of his game which will help him and guide his future. He is also part of the first championships ever in the school's history.

"Garret without a doubt has been the most improved player during these 4 years,"Coach Cruz said of the team captain."  He started as a goalkeeper, then midfield, and finally has been the best defender these past 2 years. Cruz continued, "Garrett has been an incredible help inside and outside of the field. Due to his leadership, never ending coachability, and discipline towards the sport of soccer his future is nothing but bright."  Garrett led the defense and helped us keep the Tiger goal shut;  conceding only 5 goals in 2 district seasons.
