John Conley is the third "winningest" coach in Snyder High School history. Coach Conley coached at SHS for 7 seasons, compiling a 43-27-2 record, including three playoff appearances.

His 1955 team was the first to go undefeated in district play, and his 1956 team had a perfect 10-0 record in the regular season.

After leaving Snyder, Coach Conley coached the offensive line at Texas Tech through 1974.

He served as Texas Tech's Assistant Athletic Director from 1974 to 1979 and Tech's Athletic Director from 1980-1985.
