Raymond Bynum
Raymon Bynum, a 1946 graduate of Snyder High School, became the 1st Snyder athlete to play in the Texas High School Coaches All-Star Football Game.
After high school, Raymon played football at McMurry College where he was a three year starter on McMurry’s Texas Conference Championship teams.
Following graduation from McMurry, he coached for seven years and was named Dallas County Coach of the Year in 1957.
In 1974, Mr. Bynum joined the Texas Education Agency in Austin and from 1981-1984, he served as the Commissioner of Education for the State of Texas.
Raymon is a member of the McMurry Athletic Hall of Honor and is a McMurry Distinguished Alumnus.
