Coach Albert Lewis began his career in Snyder at the Lincoln School in 1961.

Coach Lewis became the head baseball coach at SHS in 1977 after serving as an assistant coach for twelve years under Coach Speedy Moffett.

In seventeen years, Coach Lewis’ teams advanced to the playoffs fourteen times, won eleven district championships, and three regional titles, advanced to state three times and won the Class 4A State Championship in 1983.

Coach Lewis was inducted into the Texas High School Baseball Hall of Honor in 2003.

Upon retirement in 1994, Coach Lewis stated, “It was a great ride”.
