The back hallway of Snyder Junior High School was buzzing with excitement with the arrival of Market Day. For seventeen weeks, students had been preparing to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test. Market Day is a school-wide project-based learning opportunity that challenges students to develop a unique business idea and plan to sell it to their peers. They also have the chance to earn cash throughout the year that they can use to purchase goods and services at Market Day.
To ensure the success of their businesses, students brainstormed business ideas, conducted market research, and listened to presentations from local business owners. Once they refined their mission and objectives, they developed a business plan and budget, created their products, placed advertisements around the school, and established work schedules. The ultimate goal is to win the esteemed title of Business of the Year.

Students earned Tiger Bucks to spend at Market Day by exhibiting good behavior, grades, and other actions. Market Day was not only a fun event for students but also an opportunity for them to put their classroom learning into practice. By creating and running their own businesses, students learned valuable skills that will help them in the future.
