Seeing all the success from each and every program shows that we have many athletes who could qualify for the Athlete of the Award. award. We know that each of you worked tirelessly for all the success you have brought to yourself, your teammates, your school, and your community. Coach Eicke-Jennings continued, “Your coaches, myself, your guardians, classmates, and family see each and every one of you working hard to achieve your goals and chase your dreams. I was once a Lady Tiger and I am still proud to be a Snyder Tiger. Seeing all the success is very humbling to watch because each of you are carrying on the winning tradition.”
Achieving Female or Male Athlete of the Year is no easy task. There is so much to be considered such as good character within the school and in the community, a model student, hard work in the classroom, community service, multi-sport participation, school spirit, attitude, accolades achieved throughout your entire high school career, and sportsmanship…just to name a few.
This year's female athlete of the year has a lot to be proud of for her time at Snyder High School. She was a two-sport athlete, participating in volleyball and softball. After graduation, she will continue her academic and athletic career. Your 2023-2024 female athlete of the year is Ava Aviles.
Your male athlete of the year will be two young men that have worked very hard throughout each of their high school careers. One being a three sport athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball and the other being a two sport athlete playing football and running track. One was the 5-4A MVP for baseball, football, and basketball and the other has made it to state in track all four years and medaled this year. Your male athletes of the year are Jay Castillo and Easton Stewart.
Please join us in congratulating the male and female athletes of the year in addition to all of the SHS student-athletes for for their remarkable achievements throughout their time at Snyder High School. Tiger Nation will miss seeing you on the field and on the court, but we are confident that you will continue to thrive and achieve success in the next chapter of your lives!
