update from SISD administration

Snyder, Texas — August 17, 2024— On Friday, August 16th  at 9:54 AM, Snyder ISD administration was informed via email of bullying allegations at one of our schools and that they would be featured in an upcoming news report on an area news station. We want to assure our community that Snyder ISD takes all accusations of bullying with the utmost seriousness, and we are actively conducting a thorough investigation into these allegations.

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students. To assist in a swift response to accusations of bullying or any other incident where student or staff safety is compromised,  we ask that parents and guardians contact their school counselor or principal immediately if they have any concerns or information related to this or any other incident. Additionally, Snyder ISD provides an anonymous reporting process to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to report any troubling information or behavior. This includes concerns about weapons, threats, fights, drugs, self-harm, suicide, harassment, bullying, or any other worrisome behavior or disclosures, whether made directly to you, observed by you, reported to you by someone else, and/ or observed online. To facilitate this process, concerns can be submitted anonymously (if desired) through the “See Something, Say Something” form, available in English and Spanish on our website: snyderisd.net/safety.

As we move forward, Snyder ISD will investigate the specific concerns reported by the news agency and review when and how the concerns were reported, how and if the procedures were followed, and the supports needed to be implemented. Our commitment is to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every student.

We thank our community for cooperating as we work diligently to address this issue.
