Snyder ISD is pleased to announce Jennifer Lockner as the new principal for Snyder Primary School. With more than 21 years of experience in education, both in Texas and New Mexico public schools, including roles as a campus administrator, instructional coach, and reading specialist. Mrs. Lockner brings a deep commitment to student success and a passion for developing high-performing, inclusive school cultures.
“We are excited to welcome a leader of this caliber to Snyder Primary School,” said Bob Rauch, Superintendent of Snyder ISD. “Mrs. Lockner is a leader who builds strong systems and invests in people. Her experience aligns with our district’s focus on strengthening instruction, developing teacher leadership, and creating learning environments where all students can thrive.”
She holds a Master’s in Instructional Leadership from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Midwestern State University. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in leading campuses to remarkable growth and recognition. Most recently, the elementary school she led was named a 2024 National ESEA Distinguished School and was recognized as a New Mexico Spotlight School for two consecutive years. Her efforts to build strong partnerships with ISDs, Head Start, and childcare organizations have helped create cohesive systems of support for young learners.
Dr. Jessica Gore, Assistant Superintendent for Snyder ISD stated, “Mrs. Lockner brings a strong background in instructional leadership, with a focus on improving literacy and overall student achievement. She has led efforts to strengthen teaching practices through data-driven decision-making and effective teacher coaching. Her work reflects a deep understanding of how to build systems that support both educators and students, helping campuses make meaningful academic progress.”

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to serve students in their formative years and ensure that their first experience with school is a positive one. Although her official start date is in July, Mrs. Lockner looks forward to being on campus as much as possible this spring to connect with students, families, and staff. Snyder ISD looks forward to the future of Snyder Primary under her guidance, confident that her extensive background, strong instructional knowledge, and student-centered mindset will have a meaningful impact on the school and community.
