Snyder Junior High School Parents and Guardians,
At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, some families of Snyder Junior High students were notified their child would be retained or "held back" for the upcoming school year. After discussing the issue with our leadership team, we have decided not to retain students at Snyder Junior High this school year.
The COVID-19 pandemic did cause learning loss for many of our students. However, we believe it is best to advance students to the next grade level and address any deficits with other interventions. If a parent or legal guardian wants their child to be retained, Senate Bill 1697 allows the parent to choose to do so.
If your child still has a Chromebook, please return it to Snyder Junior High as soon as possible. The office is open today from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm and beginning on July 26th, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-4:00 pm. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s grade placement for the upcoming school year, please contact us.
Sincerely,
John Rush
