On Sunday, October 10th, at approximately 6 pm, high winds caused power lines to arc, which sparked a grass fire near the Snyder ISD Ag Barn. A student noticed the fire and initiated a call to 911. Snyder and Colorado City Fire Departments were able to respond and extinguish the fire. Snyder ISD staff, students, and parents assisted in extinguishing any remaining hot spots. We want to thank everyone who acted swiftly to contain the fire, ensure the safety of everyone and all of the animals, and prevent any significant damage to the property.
