To help students in our community this holiday season, SJHS students are holding a food drive to collect food items over the next few weeks. Each day for 12 days, a certain item from the Blessings in a Bag’s wish list will be collected and donated. Please see the calendar below to find out which items are requested on which days. Feel free to substitute other items if you don’t have something on the calendar. The WIN class that brings the most items will earn $100 in SJH Cash daily. Students will deliver items to their WIN teacher.

Let's give a 👏👏👏 to our 4th and 5th grade GOAL GETTERS!

At Snyder Intermediate School, part of our vision is to celebrate academic excellence and goals to provide a roadmap to student success. We believe all students can grow, no matter their academic level.

Goal Getters are recognized after each unit test. Teachers set goals for students based on their previous year's STAAR performance to give students a target for growth. Students learn the importance of setting goals and the work required to meet them.

Daily assignments and exit tickets provide a window into day-to-day understanding, but unit tests provide a deeper perspective of comprehension and retention. Ask your child about their goals. Be sure to look beyond the overall letter grade and regularly check your child's test grades in Skyward.

Together, we can help your child achieve their best. As always, reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Snyder Intermediate Parents and Students - the first semester ends December 22, and we have some exciting prizes to go home with three lucky students with perfect attendance! Mrs. Cade recently sent a message on ParentSquare celebrating their campus attendance rate and some important reminders. We can't wait to see who wins!
Why all this talk about attendance? Studies show that chronic absences — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—exempt, nonexempt absences and suspensions—can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.

If you have not read our updated attendance policy, need clarification on exempt vs. nonexempt absences, or need help submitting an absence note, visit our attendance page: www.snyderisd.net/attendance.
