Snyder High School took first place in the pumpkin carving contest with the entry for the Most DECA-iest pumpkin. This year's contest had a record number of entries, with 650+ submissions from members all across the DECA world! The selection process was not easy, but the members have voted and we are excited to announce the top three winners in each category! The idea came from Isabella Martinez, 11th along with her partners, Anahi Juarez, 11th & Heiley Tran 11th.

Second graders turned ordinary objects and shapes into extraordinary artwork through stamping! This is a fun and inexpensive project you can do with your kids at home, too!
1. Gather a variety of objects of different shapes and sizes.
2. Dip the object into the paint of your choice, covering the bottom evenly.
3. Press the object onto a piece of paper, fabric, or other surface, using gentle pressure to create the stamp.
4. Repeat the process with different colors and objects to create patterns and designs.
Allow the artwork to dry completely before displaying or using it in other projects.

Ms. Cabrera's Spanish I & II classes have had a busy few weeks! Recently, students made Tapetes for Día de los Muertos and celebrated the Hispanic culture with food and fun!
These students traveled to Abilene and saw a piece of Snyder's history!
During a field trip to Frontier Texas, this group of second graders were among the first to see the new White Buffalo exhibit donated by a Snyder family ranch.
Frontier Texas allows visitors to relive the Old West through the magic of state-of-the-art technology. Students always enjoy this field trip that takes them back through history!

Campus ambassadors are 3rd-grade students who were nominated by their teachers who exhibit excellent leadership qualities and take pride in our school. Campus ambassadors will help with tasks like escorting visitors around campus, walking new students and their families to their classes on their first day, and helping with special events on campus as needed. We are very proud of them and can't wait to see them showcase their leadership skills.

Snyder High School's culinary and art students hosted a combined fall art exhibition. With a remarkable display of their creativity, they demonstrated their talents through baking, pottery, watercolor paintings, photography, and sketching. The event saw an impressive turnout, underscoring the community's appreciation for their artistic endeavors!
Congratulations to the Snyder Intermediate Students who had perfect attendance for the second grading cycle!
Why all this talk about attendance? Studies show that chronic absences — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—exempt, non exempt absences and suspensions—can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.

Mrs. Dollins' English III students are using persuasive rhetorical techniques and creating a prototype to sell the class. We can't wait to see what they come up with!
Mrs. Leija's and Mrs. Hinojos's second-grade dual language classes honored their loved ones and celebrated Dia de los Muertos yesterday. The goals of the dual-language program are to gain an understanding of the English and Spanish languages and their cultures.
Day of the Dead is celebrated on November first and second. It is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and other Latin American countries to honor their loved ones who have passed away. People decorate alters with their loved ones' photos, flowers, candles, and belongings. It is a happy celebration of the lives they have lived and to remember them.
💜 Let's give a 👏👏👏 to the 5th grade GOAL GETTERS! Mrs. Lewis, Mrs. Mann, and Ms. Solis have been working hard with students on Unit 3. Mrs. Goodwin, Ms. Torno, and Mr. Stevenson have helped students grow their skills in Module 2. Based on the goals set from the previous year's STAAR, these students met their goals for 💪 GROWTH on their unit tests!
Why are we focusing on unit tests throughout the year?
Daily assignments and exit tickets provide a window into day-to-day understanding, but unit tests provide a deeper perspective of comprehension and retention. Ask your child about their goals. Be sure to look beyond the overall letter grade and regularly check your child's test grades in Skyward.
