It truly is an honor and a privilege to have the freedom to gather, celebrate, remember, and be inspired by the brave men and women of our US Armed Forces.

The Dual-Language program isn't just about learning a second language, it's about gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures too!
Miss. Stewart, the art teacher at Snyder Primary School, continued their studies of this holiday during art class. Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students used watercolor crayons to color a pre-made design or to create their own design of a sugar skull. The 2nd and 3rd-grade students painted rocks to look like a sugar skull.
Día de los Muertos is celebrated from October 31st through November 2nd. It largely originated in Mexico and is celebrated by people of Mexican heritage elsewhere. It is a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember funny events and anecdotes about the departed.

Students in Mrs. Jaimes' third grade dual language classes wrote their own Magic Tree House books! After the students finished writing, editing, and illustrating, they went to Mrs. Vasquez and Mrs. Soliz's kindergarten classes to share their stories.
