Our cafeteria staff was all smiles this morning and among the first back on campus to prepare for school. Thank you to Mr. Randolph and the entire SFE crew for being flexible and ready to roll this morning!
It's CTE Month! Throughout the month, we will celebrate the Career and Technical Education programs offered at Snyder High School. In September of 2022, Snyder ISD Automotive opened to the community as a school-based enterprise allowing students to serve the public and expand their experience by working on a wide-variety of vehicles.
In this picture, Mr. Escobedo, Automotive Instructor, teaches students how to replace a starter solenoid on a vehicle.

Recess is fun for kids, but it is also an important part of the day. The cold weather is no match for elementary teachers! One of their many superpowers is developing creative and fun solutions to keep kids happy and engaged. Mrs. Soliz's kindergarten students clearly have fun during indoor recess!
Even the CDC agrees: "studies have found that recess benefits students by improving their memory and attention, helping them stay on topic in class, reducing their disruptive behavior, and improving their social development."

SHS Cheer is competing at the UIL State Spirit Competition on Friday, Jan 13 in Ft. Worth. Good luck Tigers!
Mrs. Leija and Ms. Vera’s 2nd-grade dual language classes have been learning about the “Los Tres Reyes Magos." Students in Mrs. Leija’s class created their shoes, and Ms. Vera’s homeroom brought a shoe where the three kings left a small gift for each student. We celebrated with a Rosca and Jon Luke, Andy, and Mauro found the figurine.
Not only do students in the dual-language program learn a second language, but they also learn about the culture.

Mrs. Dominguez's Pre-K class celebrated Día de Los Reyes (Three Kings' Day). Yamileth, Joniel, and Mrs. Dominguez got the figurines, which means they will bring the tamales for Día de la Candelaria on February 2nd!
This morning, Snyder Intermediate School Students received their medals and ribbons from their successful December UIL Academic Meet in Big Spring. Congratulations to all of the students and coaches!

We tried to get photos of as many students and coaches as possible - we apologize if we missed a few!
"2023, we've got this! " Mrs. Vera's 2nd-grade dual language students are ready to take on the new year with a positive attitude!
#webelieveinsnyderisd #snydertigers
Mrs. Leija's 2nd-grade dual language class welcomed in the New Year with their high school helper Valeria Lopez, rereading the book "One Word for Kids." At the beginning of the school year, they read the same book, and each student wrote one word to help them have the best year. Today they each chose a new word to continue their best year. What's your word?

It was a successful tournament series for the Lady Tigers!
The JV girls beat Big Spring on Thursday, Andrews on Friday, and then fell to Levelland Saturday in the championship game. This is their 3rd tournament of the tournament season and their 3rd 2nd-place finish for each tournament. We can't wait to see what's next for this determined group of Lady Tigers!
The Lady Tigers Varsity team went 4-0 at the Kristi Korbin Tournament in Andrews this weekend, defeating Monahans, Kermit, Andrews, and Alpine. This brings their season record to 7-8. Congrats to Jayci for making the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Tuesday at home vs Andrews, with JV at 5:45 and Varsity at 7pm. Make plans to come out to Tiger Gym and cheer them on!

Good luck to all of the students competing in UIL this afternoon!
Students from Snyder Primary Elementary School, Snyder Intermediate School, and Snyder Junior High School are competing in the academic UIL contest in Big Spring. The UIL coaches and students have been working diligently to prepare, and they are ready and excited to represent Snyder ISD!
Parents, be sure to watch ParentSquare for updates and contact the school or UIL coach with any questions.
Students at Snyder Intermediate School have been creating ornaments to be displayed on the Historic Scurry County-Heritage Village Christmas tree. Plastic cups, bottle caps, can tabs, old ornaments, and CDs have been given new life thanks to Mrs. Torres and the STEM lab students!
We also want to thank the Scurry County Library for donating many of the supplies used in these projects!

All campuses are participating in the Snyder Lions Club Canned Food drive! Bring canned goods and non-perishable food items through Wednesday, November 30th. All items will benefit Scurry County families in need this winter.
Readers are leaders! 💛 🎉
Don't forget to take some time and read over the Thanksgiving holiday!
#webelieveinsnyderisd #snydertigers #readersareleaders📚
Last week, students in Mrs. Jones' classroom had a visit from two special authors and illustrators! Snyder High School Education and Training students Maria Valadez and Faith Rosas read the book they wrote and illustrated to the kindergarten students. This book was also entered in the TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) competition.
Don't forget to pick up a book and read over the Thanksgiving holiday...better yet, consider writing and illustrating your own!

Have you read the story, "Stone Soup"? The Pre-K classes at Snyder Primary Elementary School have been learning about this European folk story. Hungry strangers convince the townspeople to share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys. What a great lesson about friendship and working together! Today they celebrated with their friends and family by creating their own “Stone Soup!” #TigerFamily #webelieveinsnyderisd #Tigernation #gotigers #snydertigers
